Aerostar 600 Wanted
Hello to my Aerostar Pilot Friends,
Having flown an Aerostar years ago before the airline job, I have finally realized how cool it would be to have one of my own.
Primarily, I am looking for a late model 600A or 600. Avionics are not important to me but corrosion certainly is. I have just looked a several aircraft on the east coast and in Florida and was not impressed. As an A&P and Van's RV8 owner/builder it hurt me to see several in such poor condition.
I guess I need to learn a new language because "always hangared" apparently does not mean it was kept indoors. Does the water always poor out of the upper door when it is opened? Yikes!
Secondarily, I would also consider a 601A, 601 or 601B in that order. I don't need boots or hot props or pressurization. I just spent the last 35 years at FL 350, so 8500 MSL sounds just about right!
So, if anyone has an idea of someone who is ready to trade their bird or trade up (the only way I think a pilot could "trade up" from an AStar is to go to a turbine something) please keep me in mind. I look forward to eventually meeting fellow Aerostar owners and pilots and am glad there is a Forum (or two) where we can trade ideas and experience. Thank you.

Hi James - and welcome to the Forum
A Friend of mine has one for sale - well maintained. It's in Canada (Toronto) and he is asking $110 Canadian for it (83-85 US$). He has given me permission to provide his email and phone.

Hi Bob,
Thank you for that information and I'll call him for details.
From what I've read on this forum so far I know it's you to whom I'll be asking questions.

We don't collect phone numbers, addresses or distribute emails - however you CAN send an email to a Member.
Start with a post from a Member - highlight and select his name in the post header. That opens his profile, and there is an option to send a Personal Message or send an eMail.
PM's are only good for Members who sign in daily, but sending an email launches your default mail program for direct communication.

Re: Aerostar 600 Wanted
James,
I retired from airline flying 10 years ago. I currently have a 1978 Aerostar 600A and a 1969 Aerostar 601RB for sale. Prefer to keep the 69'. The 78' has less than 4000 hours on the airframe and 450hrs each engine, on a 20 year overhaul. Basic avionics, maroon interion, and white paint. I am asking $160K. Located in Houston TX (KDWH). My contact number is 281-355-8182.
I woud enclose a picture, however my pic file is too large to upload. IT challenged, so you'll have to provde an email to see pictures.
